The India Post GDS 4th Merit List 2026 is eagerly awaited by thousands of candidates who applied for the 28,636 Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) vacancies under Online Engagement Schedule-I, January 2026. Candidates who were not shortlisted in the first three merit lists are now looking forward to the 4th Merit List, which is expected to be released in June 2026.

Once released, follow these steps:

Step 1: Visit the official portal – indiapostgdsonline.gov.in

Step 2: Click on "GDS Online Engagement" on the homepage

Step 3: Select "Schedule-I January 2026"

Step 4: Click on "Supplementary List – IV" (4th Merit List) when it appears

Step 5: Select your Postal Circle / State from the list

Step 6: The state-wise PDF will open in a new tab

Step 7: Press Ctrl + F on your keyboard and type your 7-digit Registration Number to quickly find your name

Step 8: Download and save the PDF for your records

What to Do After Your Name Appears in GDS Merit List

If your registration number appears in the GDS 4th Merit List:

Step 1 – Document Verification (DV):
Report to your respective Divisional Office on or before the deadline mentioned in the merit list.

Step 2 – Documents to Carry (Originals + 2 Photocopies):

  • Class 10 Marksheet and Certificate
  • Date of Birth proof
  • Caste Certificate (if applicable)
  • EWS Certificate (if applicable)
  • Computer/Basic IT Certificate (compulsory – minimum 60 days course)
  • Photo ID proof (Aadhaar, PAN, Voter ID)
  • Passport-size photographs

Step 3 – Medical Examination:
After DV, shortlisted candidates undergo a medical examination.

Step 4 – Final Appointment:
Appointment order is issued after successfully clearing both DV and medical examination.
